New Waterproof luminaires
New waterproof luminaires from
Philips are said to cut installation time in half by
eliminating virtually all-loose parts that can be dropped
or lost during installation – saving time and
frustration.
Supplied in quick-opening
packaging, they are assembled by simply pressing the
housing into mounting brackets secured to the ceiling. The
cover is closed by snapping it in place with finger
pressure alone. The cover is self-centring, for easy
positioning in the housing.

The moulded grips hold the cover
firmly along its entire length to provide a waterproof
seal – and a prefitted cable gland, through which the
wiring is fed preserves the watertight integrity of the
design.
Like the previous Pacific range,
the new range of luminaires is said to provide optimum
lighting over areas where moisture may be a problem.
Available in single or twin lamp versions, the luminaires
are supplied as standard with Philips TL’D’
fluorescent lamps, although versions with Philips
TL’5’ lamps will also be available. Operating with
high frequency electronic ballast circuitry, TL’5’
versions offer higher efficiency and important cost
savings – including up to 25% lower energy consumption
and up to 50% longer life.
